To be honest I have been avoiding it for ages but I do think the time has come for me to join the Apple ipad trend. Previously I’ve been immune to the protestations of my Apple mad friends but this time there’s a really good reason.The thing is I have to work abroad a lot and one thing that’s always troubled me is the fact that I can not watch Iplayer abroad. It is annoying specially any time you’re stuck in some awful nondescript hotel on the edge of a European industrial estate. These hotels usually have great wifi connections though so some type of computer should provide you with the alternative of watching the Iplayer Abroadrather then foreign language shows.However they don’t as BBC Iplayer is blocked away from UK or at least it was. The BBc have finally announced a global version which is to be available anywhere. Really the only drawback is the fact it’s only being released as an Apple ipad program – hence my visit to the Apple store.
